Meeting Marion

Hi everyone! Meet my Instagram buddy Marion!

I was browsing pictures of Miami on Instagram one day and found Marion (M4liami), a lovely French girl with so many beautiful pictures of my city.  I left a few comments in my broken French, and she responded enthusiastically. We ended up direct messaging each other for days. She wrote in English and I wrote in French. We figured we'd communicate in this way so we can each practice our respective non-native languages, since Marion is moving to Miami and I don't want to lose French the little French I learned in college.

So I invited Marion to a local blogger event three Saturdays ago-- to Books and Books where Annie Vazquez of The Fashion Poet gave a talk on blogging as a business. Turns out, Marion speaks way better English than I do French. Like, I can barely put sentences together verbally, even though I can write it understandably enough apparently. Lol. After the talk we had some lunch and then took a bunch of photos of our outfits, of course.  I've been working on this post for over two weeks because we took sooo many pictures! Haha.

We had some lighting troubles since it was such an intermittently cloudy day, but it was fun nonetheless. She's obviously good with a camera-- Marion has racked up almost 2,500 followers in the 3 months she's had an Instagram.

As for what I wore, I wanted to keep it simple and relatively comfortable after the long work week I had. The long work weeks I always have! I practically live in these Denim & Supply jeans on the weekends. The shirt I'm wearing has been on major repeat, too. Added a red lip + one of my fave heels to keep it from looking too dressed down, since this was a blogger event and all. I met a few bloggers at the event as well, like Jessica of She Dreams of Travel. I hope to attend more local blogger events this year and build connections with like-minded Miamians.
