Lunch Date

Like Mother, Like Daughter

This is not a Mother's Day post in September, nor is it in honor of a special date or event in our lives. It is simply a fun little post that came together unplanned when my mom and I dressed very similarly to go to the mall one day. This happens a lot, actually.

Shoesday Tuesday: Let it Rain

Hi folks! Here is a late Shoesday Tuesday post inspired by today's god awful weather.

When it Rains

yellow Hunter boots | floral jelly flats | black bow flats
Let it Rain

Miami is infamous for its moody weather, especially in the summer. But it's still hurricane season, so we'll continue to be subjected to some rainy days (and I do mean days) until the end of November.

So of course I've been wanting a pair of rain boots since FOREVER AGO. Why I haven't bought a pair I haven't a clue. I think I've been waiting for just the right pair to come along. And now there's the rain flat too, which looks less out of place in Miami. Because even though we get loads of rain, it's pretty weird to see people out and about in rain boots.

Thus, if I weren't on a shopping ban and hadn't had a slip-up last weekend at Nordstrom Rack, I would get the black floral Ted Baker boots in a heartbeat. They are so pretty and could probably work year round. But then there's the cute flats too, particularly the black bow flats which are so adorable and work appropriate!

I think I may buy something from here by the end of the week. In fact, if my favorite items are still available by Friday, I'll get one of them. Rationalize away, Nathy.

Hope you enjoyed this edition of Shoesday Tuesday!

I love this little gem of a site.
Construction began in 1672.  First it was Spanish, then British, then Spanish again, and lastly American.
It's so rich with history. It's a little piece of Spain right here in Florida.

Casual Dining on the Charleston Harbor

On our last night in Charleston we ate at a local seafood place called Fleet Landing. It was close to our hotel and had great views of the Mount Pleasant Pier.

I was pleasantly surprised by my outfit that night, since it hadn't occurred to me to combine this anchor top and striped skirt until then. Which sounds like a no-brainer, it being anchors and stripes we're talking about! I like how the brown in the skirt toned down the nautical vibe compared to this combination. To me, this simple outfit has a traveler feel to it.

Now, you may wonder who would order a burger at a seafood place. Me! Fun fact: I don't like seafood. If it comes from the sea, I don't eat it. I swear, this Buzzfeed article was written for me.

Mount Pleasant Pier

So that was my last post from Charleston! Next up, St. Augustine.

Overall, Charleston was a lovely place to visit. There was a photograph waiting to be taken at every corner. What can I say, I was a sucker for that old Charlestonian charm!

Charleston Sights

I was so into these bench swings on the Mount Pleasant Pier in Charleston that it didn't even occur to me to stand up for a better view of the outfit. Haha.

Although there's a sign asking visitors to please limit their swinging time to 20 minutes, I'm pretty sure everyone I saw there that day had been there for much longer. It's so nice and breezy, and the views are lovely.
