Rose Gold Beauties

Well, clearly I don't blog anymore, but something about these rose gold beauties I encountered today made me want to head on over to Polyvore and make this little collection. Then I came over here and published this post, for old times' sake!

People don't really read blogs like they used to anymore-- it's all about the 'gram nowadays. Apparently not even Snapchat is as much of a thing for bloggers anymore? Idk, I've been out of it for a few months, which is apparently equal to about 5 years, ha. These days all I do is work, and between the never-ending demands of my job and the crippling perfectionism that made me edit photos like a sloth, I realized I just couldn't blog anymore.

I do want to create an end-of-year post, just for me and any future kids/grandkids who might encounter this little blog of mine one day. :)
Because so much shit went down this year. It has been absolutely insane, and has forever changed who I am. So dramatic, but I kid you not, 2017 really was that transformative for me.

In case I don't quite get to it, let's have a proper sign off:

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Fun Stuff Friday:
A Kate Spade Valentine's Day

No one does Valentine's Day like Kate Spade does. Kate Spade herself has actually changed her name to Kate Valentine! (Though it wasn't for her love of Valentine's Day but we can pretend it was.) I've loved the heart purse since I first saw it last year, and I own the nude and rose gold mother-of-pearl heart watch (so cute and goes with everything). But the biggest winner of these V-Day beauties has to be the red bow heels! They are so freaking cute! Just look at them on Julia-- these photos below are from her "Double Bows" post in December.

Thanks for reading!
Happy weekend to you all!

Fun Stuff Friday:
Kate Spade Statement Earrings

Love me some Kate Spade, particularly her bags and earrings. I've been after these multi-color Kate Spade earrings for the past three years and I finally got them! When I went to go get them I saw most of these earrings at Macy's too, and boy did I want them all. Good thing I have a style blog-- if I can't have something irl,  I shall document their existence and have them here!

Shoesday Tuesday: Nike Rainbow

*Click on the arrow to the right for the second page*

Longest Shoesday Tuesday I've ever done but I just couldn't stop myself once I started browsing these Nikes. Having "shoe game" is one of the most important superficial things for a born and bred Miami native. I have never been part of this club, because I've always preferred girlier shoes and I've also never had a reason to. But ever since I joined the gym in the summer I've been eyeing all the pretty workout gear on the bodies of people I will never look like. If I can't have their butts, at least I can have their workout clothes amirite? (No but seriously, the internal social comparison at the gym is not as intense as I imagined it'd be. Halleluyah).

Fun Stuff Friday: Stylish Rain Gear (brought to you by Hurricane Matthew)

South Florida took Hurricane Matthew very seriously. We are a party people, but when it comes to hurricanes we know the importance of preparing (and maybe throwing a hurricane party indoors). But it ended up missing Miami-Dade County entirely. We've had worse storms this year that weren't hurricanes. Still, most offices closed here as of yesterday afternoon and everything else shut down today (rightfully so). Meaning that I had nothing to do but sleep, watch Netflix, and put together this rain-inspired Fun Stuff Friday because, though I hate rainy and stormy days, I do love rain gear!

I LOOOVE all these jackets. I actually don't own a rain jacket... or a bubble umbrella, which I've always wanted. Hmmm....

I do own the red TOMS (here's an outfit post with them and some recent photos below) and I get tons of compliments every time I wear them! Which is a lot, because it's always raining here. I wore them to work yesterday and 3 people complimented me on them and asked me where they're from. They're only $59, and the best part is they fit my wide calves!

Well, thanks for reading! Hope you liked my rainy day gear. And stay safe out there, northern FL, GA, and the Carolinas!

Fun Stuff Friday: Kate Spade New York Minnie Mouse Collection

So apparently this collection has been out since March but I'm just now discovering it.
I was Minnie Mouse for Halloween in 1992 (a cute little toddler Minnie Mouse I was) and I guess you could say that's where my love for Minnie started. These Minnie creations are perfect for a trip to Disney but would also work great to add to your Minnie costumes on Halloween.  My two-year-old-self would approve. Especially of that shiny clutch. 😍

I mean look how cute this clutch is!

Shoesday Tuesday: We Need to Talk About these J. Crew Pumps

So earlier today my mom brought to my attention the most recent J. Crew catalog, and we were stunned by these stunning beauties. Look at them. They're stunning.

I mean, they're all crazy expensive and out of our budget (except the blue-gray ones which come in at a comfy $80). Still, I felt I had to make a last minute Shoesday Tuesday in honor of these heeled beauties. Perfect for fall and winter. Sure to be a conversation piece wherever you take them. I'd splurge on them if I had a life outside of work. Maybe I will again someday.

*Le sigh.*

Let's admire one more time shall we? From different angles:

Clearly these are my favorite.

Shoesday Tuesday: Ankle Boots Galore!
(+ $1000 Asos Giveaway - now closed)

So I read this Buzzfeed article about ankle boots and it inspired me to dedicate this week's Shoesday Tuesday (first one in a long time!) to my undying love for this shoe. So I went on a virtual window shopping kick and gathered these gorgeous picks for (mostly) under $100.

Make sure you click on the arrow below to see there are two more pages!
These are the real winners though-- an unexpected floral print in rich tones, perfect for Miami "fall." Got them straight from the Buzzfeed article and then I stalked the Instagram of the girl who took this photo to see where they were from. They're from Asos. You're welcome.

A lot of the boots above are from Asos, actually.
And looky here, I'm currently hosting a $1000 Asos giveaway! Enter for your chance to win!

There's a lot of us but you don't have to follow everyone. But the more you do the more entries you get.

Fun Stuff Friday: Resort Chic

I've been going to the beach a lot this summer and therefore really into swimwear-- a little too into swimwear. I have a drawer full of bathing suits and absolutely no need for new additions. Still, I'm obsessed with beachwear and accessories lately. Mara Hoffman is my favorite swim designer but I have yet to purchase a piece by her. Just look at these two-- they're masterpieces!

Also, the round beach towel is a huge trend this year. I love the palm one pictured above, and check out this great design for just $25.

And the bright bags are so Miami. In fact, they're part of Stephanie Johnson's "Miami" Collection this season. The blue carry-all is still available in her store and the pink is still available through Nordstrom. I love that it's clear so you can easily find your sunblock, chapstick, keys, phone and all the other little things that always end up at the bottom of the bag.

I just came back from a huge vacation (and have yet to publish any posts) but boy do I wish I could pack up this virtual wish list to a 5-star Caribbean resort this weekend. Sometimes I wish I could just win the Powerball and become a travel blogger, you know? 😄🏖🌴🏝

Fun Stuff Saturday: BAGS, BAGS, BAGS
(under $100)

Oh, straw bags, you have my heart this summer. That's how this post started, and then I found all these other cute summer bags for non-beachy activities. So I threw them all together and voilà: a summer bag orgy. Best part is they're all under $100, and most are under $60.

Thanks for browsing.
Happy weekend, everyone!

Last Night's Old Navy Order

Back in the day the only time I ever went to Old Navy was when they offered their $1 flip-flop deal every summer (or was it every spring?). I was never a fan of Old Navy-- their stores kinda overwhelmed me for some reason and I thought their fabrics were very low-quality. The low-quality thing might still very well be true, but yesterday when I went on their website looking for just a denim jacket for my Mediterranean cruise next month, I was flabbergasted at all these cute dresses AND THEIR PRICES! Everything was on sale. They had 15% off with no code needed, plus an extra 30% if you used code APRILSAVE. Here is everything I purchased from them, in the order in which I discovered it.

So it all started with the denim jacket, which I ordered in both regular medium and medium petite to see which one fits best. I can just return in the store or by mail if anything. Then I wanted to find some lightweight spring scarves. $6.97 for the mint? YES PLEASE. So then I saw an ad for their dresses (good job, Old Navy). It was incredible how many cute dresses they have, all sorted out by category. Yesterday they had them sorted by type of dress, but today I only see them sorted by occasion. Also nice.

I kept hearing how Old Navy has changed their image and upped their game but hadn't investigated for myself. "They're like a super cheap J. Crew now," a friend told me not too long ago. Boy was I hooked. I don't plan on keeping all of this I ordered, but for the price and flexible return policy, I allowed myself to go a little wild. Most of these things aren't even for my trip-- I just want more cute dresses to wear on the weekends because pants = yuck in the summer here. So sticky.

So yeah, that was my impulse purchase from last night! I hope most of them will fit and look ok enough. Otherwise they will be returned. I expect to wear some of what I ordered on the blog.

Thanks for reading!

P.S. This is not sponsored by Old Navy in any way, though I wish it was. However, if you make a purchase, I will be compensated a very tiny amount through ShopStyle's affiliate program, as posted in my disclosure on the sidebar. Just wanted to make that very clear since I came off very excited in this post. Because I am! 😊

Throwback Thursday: 70s Style

I've been really digging the 70's look lately. Which is still surprising to me, because I've always said I'm a fan of the 20's-60s and it stops there. But nope, the 70s had its own classic beauty in its own right. More like a sexiness, really. The first time I really noticed this was in American Hustle.

THE DONNA: Nasty Gal white ringer teeStella McCartney flare jeans70s Converse
This first collage is so typically "Donna" of That 70s Show. I LOVE those flared pants. Wish I could pull them off but I have yet to find a petite pair that are actually petite. The baseball sort of tee and Converse complete the classic All-American feel here. I'd wear this outfit with flippy Farrah Fawcett hair.

70s BEACH GLAM: Asos plunge halter swimsuitMissguided ankle strap platformsChloe Sunglasses
GIRLY BOHO: Baggu bag, Phyllis Wedge SandalGorjana viceroy earringsJoie chambray dress

For these next two I was inspired by all the sexy V-neck or plunge bathing suits I've been seeing lately, and the beautiful Phyllis Wedge Sandal I just ordered from Shopbop. I included the heels because they went with the vibe, not because I find them practical for the beach by any means. Let that be clear. Lol. The outfit on the right is so me and just screams Sunday brunch to me. It's relaxed and girly and boho. So cute. I took advantage of the Friends and Family sale happening at Shopbop until 11:59 tonight (see below) and finally bought those wedges I had been eyeing since last month. Can't wait to see them!

Fun Stuff Sunday: Pretty Spring Bags

pretty spring bags 2016
1 - Rebecca Minkoff Side Zip Mini // 2 - Kate Spade striped coral bag // 3 - Deux Lux scalloped bag
4 - Cambridge Satchel Saddle Bag // 5 - Hat Attack Perfect striped tote // 6 - Hat Attack Watermelon Clutch
7 - BAGGU brown crossbody // 8 - Deux Lux white saddle bag // 9 - BAGGU rose crossbody

So I put together this collection of pretty spring bags for my regular "Fun Stuff Friday" feature, but I went for a "Fun Stuff Sunday" instead because I don't think many of these will make it to Friday! For example, the Baggu crossbody bags are 20% off and the Kate Spade is 30% off. Then there's the pretty scalloped tote that's been everywhere on the blogosphere lately.

The yellow Rebecca Minkoff is the most expensive, but I had to include it because look at that color! I own the white crossbody in navy and really love it, but I kinda want the white one too. White can be unforgiving if you are a klutz like me but it's oh so versatile. It's hard to pick my favorite here but I think I'd go with the Baggus. They're so simple and would go with just about everything.

Thanks for reading, and happy Sunday!

Shoesday Tuesday: Statement Sneaks

Today's Shoesday Tuesday is a little different than what I usually post. I actually own many of these kinds of shoes-- two pairs of Toms, two Converse, and two boat shoes, but I rarely showcase them on the blog. I guess I like to show when I get all dressed up. Gotta show them some more love on the blog.

7 - Keds 'Champion' Canvas Sneaker
8 - Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Photo Reel Sunset Sneakers
9 - kate spade new york stefy "let's fly away" suede skate sneaker

I was originally going to talk about travel shoes today, but I kept seeing all these great prints on Shopbop that were new arrivals, and they totally won me over. I especially like the beautiful watercolor on the #8 Converse, the abstract graffiti on #3, and the adorable watermelon print on the #2 Keds. Oh, and #5, of course. I love a good floral. The Kate Spades in the middle are the only slip ons in this set but I couldn't pass them up because they are so damn cute. I'm a sucker for wearable text.

Would you wear any of these eye-catching sneaks?

Fun Stuff Friday: Mediterranean Cruise Dresses

Hi all!

So I'm going on this divine Mediterranean cruise in May, my birthday month, with one of my lifelong besties.

I am SO excited, you have no idea. Obviously, I'm already planning outfits! I'd like a big, beautiful statement dress (or 2) for the trip, but I need your help. It'll be in the 60's in the places I'm going to, so this Miami girl will likely need to cover up with light scarves and cardigans. After a few days searching, I think these dresses highlighted below are all great options. Some more practical than others, but all of them stylish. I could just picture walking around the streets of Rome or Mykonos in some of these. For Toulouse I'd love one of the Kimchi Blue ones from Urban. Which dress(es) would you buy?

I also really liked this one from Shopbop, in either of these colors. I would wear it with a denim jacket and scarf, of course. Lol.
PicMonkey Collage

I already have one maxi and one midi dress I plan on taking, so realistically I just want one more. I'll also need some comfy shoes and I'd love recommendations. So far I have a pair of super old Steve Madden sandals and a pair of Toms that are so broken in I can comfortably walk for miles in them. Maybe I need some Birkenstocks too? Some stylish Nikes? What are your travel shoe preferences? The next few Fun Stuff Fridays will be about this trip, so I'll keep asking you guys for your opinions there.

Comment below with your input. I really appreciate it!

:)

Fun Stuff Friday: Statement Sunnies

Statement Sunglasses
Hello and happy Friday!!

So I have to start off by getting this off my chest: I hate the word "sunnies." It's just needlessly diminutive to me. I'm not exactly sure where the term came from, but it's been a retailer and blogger staple for at least the past 5 years now. I use the word because it's a word in usage, but for some reason it irks me.

So now that that's out of the way, let's focus on these featured "sunnies"!
My sunglasses collection has expanded significantly in the past year. I have to stop myself from buying more because really, how many sunglasses does one need? (MANY. My heart says the answer is many). I've never owned a designer pair, nor do I ever plan to, because I use and abuse my sunglasses to hell. Not to mention lose them.

Lately I've been gravitating toward these models. I particularly love the Le Specs brand glasses and the "on trend" ones from Forever 21 and Nasty Gal. So hot. Would you rock any of these "sunnies"? Lol, let me stop.

February Recap + Last Day to Shop the SHOPBOP Sale!

Hello all, and happy Saturday!

It's 5 days into March but now is when I've had some time to blog. The first of the month is always a very busy time at work-- hell, every week is a very busy time.

This February was memorable for me, to say the least.  I was able to blog pretty consistently, missing my goal of 6 outfits per month by only one post. I also got to begin my partnership with Shopbop, which I'm very excited about (more on their huge sale below!).

In my personal life, a lot happened and didn't happen. I was out sick from work for a week and seriously considered looking for another job every. single. day. But alas, I am still there. Must get my hours for licensure, must keep my health and dental insurance, must go on that 14-day Mediterranean cruise in May! Must keep swimming. :)

Here are my favorite Instagrams of the month. Lots of sky pictures.

From a recent 🚲 ride. What I wish I was doing now! 💙 #Miami #mybeautifulcityJust scheduled a bunch of blog posts for the week, including this look where I'm rocking 5th day hair. Yep, 5th. 😊 I wish I had realized when I was younger how lucky I am to have my hair type. And that I'd always known how to style it! Would have saOne of my favorites just starting to bloom. ❤From my Valentine's Day post, now up on the blog. ❤ #EarnestyleYummy yum yum. 🍟🍔😊Had a client tell me "Nathalie, is it really you?" today because apparently I look "chunkier" with straight hair. 😂 #kidssaythedarndestthings
Cool weather skies. 🌴💙 #latepostWhat I wore to a friend's wedding, appropriately posted on #Oscars night! Lol. Felt very glamorous and regal indeed. 👑 #Earnestyle

And now for the HUGE SHOPBOP SALE!

This is one of Shopbop's 3 big events per year so if you like shopping from Shopbop you shouldn't miss out! For me, the $250 minimum is a lot to spend, but I tend to go on three big shopping sprees a year, usually at the start of each season (I'm counting fall and winter together since I live in Miami, haha). I usually end up spending about $200 on these sprees, so for me this is the perfect time to stock up on spring and summer essentials and statement pieces.

This handy link here explains the coupon code further. Sale ends at 11:59 pm Pacific time tonight.
Shop the sale with this link or check out the categories I'd splurge on below:

Thanks for reading, everyone!
A happy weekend to you all. :)

Shoesday Tuesday

PicMonkey Collage

So today's (late) Shoesday Tuesday is brought to you by Shopbop. I was invited to partner with them and was so thrilled because as you likely know they are a huge fashion retailer carrying just about every brand under the sun. I had already been linking to them via the ShopStyle affiliate link program, but now you will see me highlight specific products in more detail a few times a month. For more info on my use of affiliate links, see my disclosure on the sidebar.

So back to these lovely beauties-- I love espadrilles (like when I posted about them in 2014 here) but don't have nearly enough of them! Full disclosure: the blue ones I linked here are very much out of my comfort zone in terms of price and beyond what I can afford right now, but I needed one more shoe for the collage and honestly that was my favorite of them all. They're so vivid and fun. I also love the many Soludos ones-- so simple yet they make a statement. I think I may get the second ones because they will look great with just about anything I throw on in the spring and summer, particularly with yellow or bright orange, or black and white of course.

Very excited for spring. We actually had a few cold fronts this winter that I was very happy about but I am ready for spring fashion and beach weather again.

Thanks for stopping by!

Shoesday Tuesday: Fun Heels

fun heels
I love a good heel. My mom saw me create this collection and she thought they were mostly all hideous, with the exception of the beige ones. I disagree, Mami, ok? These heels are LOUD (except the beige) and I like them that way. They are statement heels, perfect for dressing up a pair of jeans and simple top for a fun night out. So many tassels, too. I couldn't help myself. They've been having a moment for quite some time now and I'm nowhere near over it.
Do you like bold and funky heels, or do you like to keep it classic? I say both. ;)
