Earlier this month I got the chance to tag along with The Fashionable ESQ to a blogger breakfast at Vintage Revenge & Couture. We basically got to play dress up, complete with professional hair, makeup, and photography. You guys, this was so much fun to do!
I didn't really have an era in mind, but I'm generally most drawn to 40's, 50's, and 60's vintage. This dress is actually from the 80's, but it has such a beautiful classic shape. And it fit me like a glove, like it was just waiting for me to get there and take it home with me! So I did. :)
I paired the dress with 4-strand pearls and nothing else, besides the sparkly Sparkle an Interest heels that I came in wearing. The bow on the dress is actually meant to be tied in the back, but I kinda liked it in the front a little better. I had this Hello Framboise image in mind.
That's the owner in the lovely polka dot dress that I actually have a skirt of!

Needless to say, I am super excited for Vintage Revenge's upcoming yard sale on Sunday, April 28th. Perhaps my beautiful pearls will be on sale! Can't wait to find out. :)

You look SO PRETTY! Just love it.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were inspired to tie the bow in the front. It's one of my favorite looks lately--I like the bow where I can see it!
ReplyDeleteThis polka-dot dress is so cute on you, and your hair and makeup are just gorgeous. Wish my hair would do that!
Thanks, Tam! Bows are cute no matter where you place them, but I agree: front and center is the best place. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

That dress is gorgeous, and it definitely doesn't look 80s era! I'm with you, my favorite decades of fashion are the 40s and 50s.
ReplyDeleteRight?? Love the classic styles!
DeleteDid you hear that? I just whistled at you ;) You look gorgeous, girl!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is PERFECTION on you. Don't you just love vintage pieces? I go crazy for them. And right now I'm going crazy for that star spangled sequined baseball cap. I want it! Does this store have a website?

LOL! Thanks Azu! I do go crazy for vintage, although I don't own a lot of pieces. Most of the vintage I own was originally my mom's.
DeleteHere is the store's website: http://www.thevintagerevenge.com/
And here's their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/VintageRevenge
You can try contacting them about the baseball cap through there. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteMy goodness, what an amazing looking store. I wish I could go!!! You look fabulous. Who would have thought (having lived through them in the fist place) that the eighties could be vintage. I feel quite old now!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes! Everything becomes vintage at some point. The 90's are slowly coming back in many ways, so I can understand how you feel!
DeleteI am loving the glittered pumps here - and all your pretty curls!
ReplyDeleteHello there!! I just found our blog, you are adorable!! I have a question if you don't mind ;) would a chambray dress go with leopard shoes? And what else would you pair it with? Thank you in advance and i'm your newest follower!!
ReplyDeletehello gorgeous in polka dots Xo Megan, www.TfDiaries.com
ReplyDeleteThis polka dot dress is so beautiful and I love how you wore it with the pearls, it gives it an even more vintage feel to this outfit. It's gorgeous! And your glitter heels are so fun. I definitely did not expect that and it's such a great element of surprise :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joyce! Those are the heels I came in wearing and I thought they went great with the dress, so I didn't change them. :)
DeleteI love the shape of this dress on you, and man, that looks like a fun outing!
ReplyDeleteThis look is so adorable! I would have never guessed the dress was from the 80s, the shape just screams 50s! And paired with the hair and makeup it looks incredible! Love, love, love, the polka dots, and as always, the energy you radiate! www.clothesandfashion.net
