My camera has a mind of its own.
Sometimes the manual setting doesn't work. Other times it works but everything is orange and out of focus. Kinda like here. The images aren't very crisp and originally there was a very orange tint to them.
I would say that it's me who's in the wrong if it weren't for the fact that every time I've used someone else's camera or lens, I get way better results (like here or here).
Has anyone ever had this problem? Is it fixable or is my camera defective?
Anyway, as for the actual outfit: I wore this to give a presentation on happiness and well-being for one of my classes. It's a casual look that works well in professional settings, I think, see-through top and all (or maybe I'm a little crazy and risqué, haha). The little holes keep me refreshed in the horrid Miami heat, and the vintage chambray shirt I wore here keeps me cool in UM's freezing classrooms.
Linking up with The Pleated Poppy and Get Your Pretty On.
Chambray shirt: vintage
Trousers: J. Crew (I think they're these)
Flats: Zigi Soho (cuter mint version here)
Bag: Lady Lux Boutique (local Miami shop; similar here)
Earrings: Nordstrom bp (similar here)
Oh man, I'm too scared to use the manual setting on my camera! Haha, I keep it on aperture priority and that seems to work best for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving these bright trousers and your adorable print flats :)
Trendy Teal
Thanks, Linda! I always try to use it when someone else is doing the picture-taking, because the manual setting doesn't work on self-timer (as far as I'm concerned).
DeleteI keep it on aperture priority too!!
DeleteJust wondering what camera you are using??
I think you are being a little hard on your self,I personally love the color of these pictures!
kisses
I'm using a Nikon D3000. It's the same camera I took to Europe last year and got so many gorgeous shots with, but a different lens (the other one was my boyfriend's and it was stolen). The problem is that with this camera, the manual setting doesn't always let me control the amount of light I want to let into the camera (don't know the term for this.. Is it aperture?). It's so frustrating and confusing!
DeleteI have no idea what aperture priority is. Lol. I'm not very camera lingo savvy. I should brush up on that!
nice outfit, very pretty :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I can relate. I don't fear the manual setting, but I fear MY CAMERA'S manual setting for sure! I swear, something is definitely wrong with it. :(
ReplyDeleteSUPER!
ReplyDeleteHi sweety!!
ReplyDeleteI sooo love the colors of this outfit!!
the pinkish coral color with the denim and a classic white top I adore!!
You are just too pretty!!

love this! it looks casual chic :D
ReplyDeleteMaybe check your white balance! I know if its set to auto, (which it can be even in manual) tints things weird colors when it thinks you're in certain lighting. Like here, you were in the shade, so it would do the "shade" white balance which does give it an orange tint. I think they look great anyways, but just a thought! I have a lot of problems getting my camera to focus with the self timer since I'm behind the camera when I hit the shutter button.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, thanks so much! I wouldn't have known to do that otherwise. I, too, have a problem getting the camera to focus. It's very frustrating.
DeleteBeautiful outfit!! I love the shirt!
ReplyDeleteXoxo!
Well your bright pants definitely say "happiness" so great choice for your presentation!
ReplyDeleteSequins&Stilettos
Hehe, thanks! That's what I was going for. :)
DeletePretty colors and I love that lacy top. So many possibilities! I'm so happy my hubby is the camera guy, otherwise, hard to tell what I'd end up with! But your photos look very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm not as lucky. My boyfriend takes great pictures but we have such busy schedules that I can rarely see him in the mornings when I take my pictures!
DeleteBeautiful lace shirt and I love the colour combination. I was laughing that you didn't know what the Love Boat was. I have aged myself.
ReplyDeleteHaha, it happens.
DeleteThis is such a cute outfit to wear during the week, especially in Florida! I really love wearing a lace shirt with colored pants. I think it is always looks put together, and I really like how you topped it off with a cute pair of flats and a chambray shirt. :)
ReplyDeletePlus, your comment about the holes keeping you cool, and the chambray keeping you warm in class made me smile.

Haha I'm going to repeat what so many others said and admit that I only use automatic as well! And obviously my photos aren't as great as yours! I really need to learn to use my camera haha. I think your pics look beautiful! They always do. You look gorgeous here and I love the pink pants, perfect for a talk on happiness!

nice outfit! loving your top!
ReplyDeleteI really like the lace top with the bright pants! Sorry I can't help with the camera issues - I don't shoot with mine on manual, it makes it too easy to use auto and just dial up or down the ISO depending on the brightness of the day!
ReplyDeleteAway From Blue

First of all, this outfit is so cute. I love the top and the shoes with those bright pants. Secondly, I'm not sure about the camera. That sounds really weird. Especially if you have better luck on other cameras!

I don't even think you can notice that the shirt has holes in it. It looks like lace. I love it paired with the bright pants.
