This was my first year attending (and participating in) a Swim Week event, and it was such a great experience! I wrote about the photo shoot and the event here earlier in July. Here are some highlights of the actual Escape Miami 2 event. Huge thank you to Annie (aka The Fashion Poet) for inviting me to be a part of it!

What's your summer story?

That was the theme of this photo shoot for Escape Miami 2, which was so much fun to do. To me, summer elicits memories of endless childhood summers spent in my grandparents' backyard, exploring nature, tending to their many tropical plants and trees, playing with my cousins and friends in the yard, playing dress up in the afternoons. Hence my playful, fruity ensemble for this photo shoot. I think it embodies my fondest summer stories quite well. :)

NATIONAL HOTEL MIAMI BEACH HOSTS ESCAPE MIAMI STYLE LOUNGE FOR MIAMI SWIM WEEK 2014 

WHO: Hosted by The National Hotel Miami Beach, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Annie Vazquez aka "TheFashionPoet"

WHAT:  The National Hotel Miami Beach on Saturday July 19 from 12PM to 5 PM is opening its doors to co-host the acclaimed Escape Miami Style Lounge for Miami Swim Week 2014. The fashion and beauty retreat returns with a 3PM poolside fashion show, complimentary cocktails and bites, spa and beauty treatments, such as haircuts and beard trims for the guys and mini manicures and beach waves for the gals. Attendees can sign up for tattoo application, get sketched by a fashion illustrator or take a DIY flower crown making class. There's also plenty of games and even a gentlemen's corner added this year where the guys can hang out, have a brew and play a game of poker or dominos while the ladies can shop the latest summer trends off the runway from various local and national pop-up shops. Plus, be sure to check out 45 of the city's top Miami fashion bloggers in a photo exhibit called "Our Summer Stories" photographed by Alexander Tamargo at the National Hotel.

The event is complimentary to attend. RSVP a must to ESCAPEMIAMI2.EVENTBRITE.COM Must be 21 or over to attend. Valet parking is available

Shoesday Tuesday: Juicy and Tropical Prints

The OCPD in me is going nuts over the title of this image, which either needs a comma after "juicy" or the word "prints" at the end to make more sense. But those options weren't available on Polyvore. Phew, I feel so much better now.

And in the interest of being transparent...
Some of these shoes are in the $300 range. Today, I could NEVER afford such a shoe! It would be a really, really big splurge. I figure the only way I can have some of these beauties is by way of a Shoesday Tuesday post. I hope you'll enjoy them (virtually or physically) as much as I did!

Miami Blues | Summer Boho | Earthy Lady

Oh my, where did June go? It just flew by!  We are officially closer to the end of the calendar than we are to the beginning of it.
So my June outfits were pretty simple. It was so hard to get good pictures this month, with all the rain! Our Junes are your Aprils. Aprils are lovely here. No such thing as rain in April.
