I love this skirt. I've had it since 2010? Something like that.. It's so earthy and easy to wear--a great statement piece in the spring, summer, or fall (Miami fall, that is). 

Miami Mondays: MONC Boutique

Before I started a style blog, I considered starting a Miami blog. But I thought that would be too time-consuming and expensive, since I would have to do fun Miami things all the time. So I started a style blog instead. Because that's so much more affordable right? Lol.

Still, I love my city, and some of my favorite posts on Earnestyle are those where the Miami charm comes through. So today I'm starting Miami Mondays, a new segment where I'll be weaving in more of that charm into my style posts. I was already doing this (like here or here), but now it has a catchy name. :)



So I begin with MONC Boutique, a great little shop on Sunset and 57th (at The Crossroads building). MONC contacted me to showcase some of their clothes on the blog, and as soon as I saw all their fun floral options I knew it was a good idea.* I took both of these floral tops home with me that day. No surprise there!

Summer Boho

I'm feeling rather boho lately.

Miami Blues

You guys, don't come to Miami in the summer. Don't do it. It's nothing but rain, humidity, and the stink of wet pavement.

Mornings aren't so bad. It starts out ok-- very sunny, in fact. And then somewhere around midday things take a turn for the worse. The sunshine disappears, along with your hopes and dreams of having a relaxing beach day. Things start to look a lot like they do in these pictures. All of a sudden your surroundings are colored by a summertime sadness filter, straight from a Lana del Rey video. That girl must have been talking about Miami when she wrote that song.

There was lots of floral action last May! Every outfit featured on the blog had some kind of floral going on. As for Instagram, there were also flowers...
And there were special moments:  TJ Maxx shared one of my pictures, I walked at graduation, Babe and I turned 24, and I finally got myself some blogger business cards. :) Follow along for more flowers and happy moments! @nathyness_ Here's to June! :)
